Fantasy Roster Draft - Heel Edition
Share
A lot of thought went into this...Days of debating over the course of weeks........
Back in my younger years, I used to spend hours booking wrestling events and matches in my head or with friends. Whether I was in class day dreaming...whether I was up late on the computer playing wrestling games or making websites for fun...or if I was at a late night Denny's visit after a wrestling match - I've always enjoyed putting wrestling shows together...even if I wasn't good at it.
I don't know if there's anything more fun than building your own roster. And putting together matches you'd want to see...even if it's just on paper.
So let's do a little playing...
Welcome to the Fantasy Draft...HEEL EDITION!

Pick at least one of each: (post in the comments)
• The Alpha Heel:
The guy who doesn’t even need to wrestle well because his attitude does most of the work.
• The Technician Heel:
Submission specialist, joint-lock fiend, someone who enjoys the slow collapse.
• The Pretty Heel:
The one with the perfect face/body and the worst intentions.
• The Powerhouse Heel:
The body slammer, the pile driver, the “okay now you’re airborne” moments. This guy is a beast!
• The Wildcard Heel:
This guy might lick you, or bite you, or kiss you, or DDT you through a couch. You don’t know. He doesn’t know.
Here are my picks...
Some of these were tough...actually, I had a few picks for each and debated who I'd have to pick in that role...and, in the mental debate with myself, I left a few people off the top spot, I tried to give them a mention and an explanation why I didn't pick them.
Alpha Heel:
This was the first debate with myself. I had Jonny Firestorm, Guido Genatto and, even, Joey Nux in this role. In all honest, when Joey wants to be, he's certainly a top alpha heel, but when you really ponder it, Joey doesn't jump into your mind immediately when you think of alpha heel.
Guido & Jonny fit in other roles, but could definitely be considered top for this category.
Ultimately, I picked Dr. Maniacal & Golden Terror. Both played by my buddy from Florida.
In real life, he's unassuming as a total heel. You'd think he was a nice guy even. I've seen studs melt when they realize what kind of defeat & humiliation they are experiencing at the hands of Dr. Maniacal & Golden Terror. I'm talking all sizes. From Pretty-boys to tough-guys to massive bodybuilders.
I've watched them wide-eyed, trying to fight back only to realize not only is Dr. Maniacal a big man, but he's also a skilled wrestler, a deviant dick destroyer and he doesn't care how bad it feels.
My Pick: Dr. Maniacal & Golden Terror
Technical Heel:
This was harder than I thought. I always go right to Chase Sinn as being one of the best technical and all-round wrestlers I've ever seen. He's an encyclopedia of wrestling knowledge. Someone I enjoy watching and learning from. He's corrected and improved lots of my techniques and he knows the reason behind the moves and techniques so he knows how to apply them effectively.
I like watching equally skilled wrestlers, just wrestling. No theatrics needed.
His match with Barry Burke was a fun one to watch...and that made me think Barry Burke is way better than he gets credit for as a technical wrestler. He's highly skilled and extremely athletic. His strength cause his technical side to under-utilized.
Chase Sinn vs. Barry Burke (Just Wrestle)
Donnie Dukes has been the King of Submission Holds on the indie wrestling scene for decades. The guy knows them all.
Which makes me think of my buddy, Jonny Firestorm again, who knows all the submissions as well, but, I think he undersells himself as a grappler.
Killer Kris is a master of the game having studied a lot of forms of fighting and has trained with pro wrestling legends. He's even got a solid amateur wrestling resume.
Ronnie Pearl is under-valued as a technician and I've seen him pick apart opponents with his skills.
Ronnie Pearl vs. Ace Owens (with guest ref, Donnie Dukes)
Maybe we should hold a tournament of top Technical Heels to see who is truly the top dog. Could I really get all these guy together in one place? Hmmmm...
I think I'm going to put Chase Sinn and Killer Kris together in a 60 minute Iron Man match. I'm not sure if they'll be a lot of fans of the site who like it, but I know I'd love to see it plus I think seeing these two purist in action will be a FAVORITE for a handful of British Wrestling or Ring of Honor fans.
My Pick: Chase Sinn
Pretty Heel:
I had a handful of guys for this one...Donevan sprang to mind as recently I've seen his no-nonsense ass kicking upgrade and he's obviously a handsome guy. I don't know if he's my pick though.
But Lon DuMont wouldn't film unless he loved how his body looked. He'd be in phenomenal shape at 135 pounds and still looked amazing at 170 pounds, but if he felt like he wasn't...he wouldn't want to film.
Lane Hartley in his clean-cut early years fit this bill spot on. He's a heel at heart. He loves dominating jobbers even back when we were tag team partners on the pro wresting indie scene in the 2000s. The guy was always smiling and laughing about the ass kicking he and I was dishing out to our opponents. However, nowadays, he's rocking a beard and he looks like a man's man, plus he's thick! And although he still kicks ass the same, I'm not sure we can call him "pretty" now with his new look.
Gabe Steele always has GREAT wrestling outfits. He'll text them to me and I'll be in awe. Some of the gear I'm jealous of, especially his all-white attire that I think he wore at WrestleFest against Drew Harper. But I don't know if I can give him the title of Pretty Heel when I've seen him get down and dirty in some mud wrestling.
If I could talk Lon into returning, Gabe and him in a well-done pro style match with some underground flair would be a "Pretty Heel" match up I'd like to see.
My Pick: Lon DuMont
Powerhouse Heel:
I have 3 guys that to jump to the front of my mind for this.
Firstly, I recall the power moves and pile drivers that I received from Brendan Byers in Columbia, South Carolina. I should release that match sooner than later. That was the same day he and I crushed Elite Eliot. Brendan is UNDER-RATED as a wrestler. I've seen him go toe-to-toe with some of my favorite pro guys and he was on par with guys who have years and years of professional training.
Then I think, there's no one that I've seen man-handle dudes in the ring and, even, on the mats with pro power moves. The guy absolutely destroys jobbers and twinks. He does it with as much joy as someone like Guido Genatto is possible of having. His alpha-male match up against Ethan Andrews sparks up conversations still to this day.
When I think of Guido, I immediately remember the heel run of Flash LaCash aka Mr. Power Moves. He and Guido were a tag team known as POWER MOVES during a few shoots as they were all about slamming, suplexing, pile driving, power bombing, and absolute dismantling their opposition.
There's also Barry Burke who destroyed a rookie wrestler so bad that he still bitches and complains about the 3 consecutive power bombs he received at a shoot in Rhode Island. Barry Burke is one of few man that I've seen bearhug 2 men at one time.
If I have to pick one...
My Pick: Guido Genatto
Wildcard Heel:
Again, a lot of thoughts tossed around in my mind about who was going to get my pick for this role.
Guido Genatto could absolutely be the man here. He's the one that made me think of the "UNLEASHED" series. He was the main goal of all those matches. A completely one-sided wild-ass heel who didn't mind going too far against his opponents.
I've seen Jonny Firestorm do similar to jobbers. He's the type of guy who is just gonna do the next thing that comes to his mind, no matter what it is. It's just whatever his mind cooks up. No limits.
But, Nick Justice may be a madman. I don't think I've ever gone into a Nick Justice match knowing exactly what was going to come out of it. Most the time, I just hold the camera and watch chaos unfold. The guy is a phenomenal pro wrestler...easily in my Top 5. One of the absolute best I've ever wrestled or seen. Seriously, I think I could watch him forever.
His latex heel character is absolute insanity. The guy twists his own nipples, squeezes his own nuts, bites and licks his opponents. Hell, the dude pulls out steel chairs and other foreign objects with no warning.
Nick is the absolute WILDEST CARD!
My Pick: Nick Justice
Ryan Zivens vs. Nick Justice
Bonus Heel:
I cannot think of HEEL wrestlers and not immediately name Jonny Firestorm the greatest underground wrestling heel that I've ever seen. I'm in awe of how great he is at being a naughty heel against unsuspecting opponents.
The dude genuinely destroyed my nuts in a ball bash match and giggled about it for days after. I was holding my nuts for almost a week and he just said "hahahaha, sorry about that," then continued to smile and laugh.
Best All-Around Heel: Jonny Firestorm
MY HEEL PICKS SUMMARY

Alpha Heel: Dr. Maniacal & Golden Terror
Pretty Heel Lon DuMont
Technical Heel: Chase Sinn
Powerhouse Heel: Guido Genatto
Wildcard Heel: Nick Justice
BONUS PICK: Jonny Firestorm

This was a fun challenge! Thanks for sharing! :)
My Ultimate Villain Team would consist of:
• The Alpha Heel — This one is a no-brainer. It’s goes to a guy who’s so cocky that his mouth does most of the fighting for him: Tristan Baldwin.
• The Technician Heel — For me, this would be Elite Eliot. I also considered Cameron for this one, but he’s too nice of a guy to be a true “heel”! :)
• The Pretty Heel — This one definitely goes to Scrappy, with his smooth, flawless physique and matching ego. Mars, Jim Ratt, and Blayne were also contenders, but they “job” too much, and a team of heels needs winners. I also thought about drafting Bronco, but like Cam, he seems like too nice of a guy to be a true heel.
• The Powerhouse Heel — If this one is supposed to be a “beast”, then my vote goes to OTS XXL and his perfect combination of muscle and bulk. Brute Baynard was a close second on my draft roster. I also considered Joey Nux for this one but decided against it for the same “nice guy” reasons as Cam and Bronco.
• The Wildcard Heel — Most people look at this one based on the wrestler’s unpredictable personality, but I look at it from a moves / abilities perspective, and in that regard, there’s no better option than Barry Burke. No other man his size can do the things he can do. It’s as if someone created a wrestler and maxed-out all the stats!
I SWEAR this is not just based on their outfits….
• Alpha-Scrappy
• Technician-Cameron
• Pretty-Mars
• Powerhouse-Nick Justice
• Wildcard-Blake Starr
Not sure of all the categories but….. Honorable Mention……Best Consistent Chiseled Physique is Christian Thorn.
Sgt. Stiff, Max Quivers & Teddy Trouble were on my list at various points. Teddy is an absolute wild card. Sgt. Stiff is one of my favorite characters in wrestling and Max Quivers was a pleasant surprise when he debuted.
I don’t know how I forgot about Sid Shaw. That guy keeps me on my toes.
I also thought about Z-Man as the pretty boy heel, but I just couldn’t give him top spot. But somehow forgot Dick Rick as a heel.
I think Elite Eliot is an underrated pro wrestler and wish we could start a hybrid underground pro league. He’d probably be the champion.
Man, I may have to go back to edit my picks….
I’ll start debating my jobber picks now…it’ll take me a while to finalize haha
Cam, some fun things to think about. I like your picks but here are mine…
Alpha Heel: Dr. Maniacal/Golden Terror, Max Quivers/Sgt. Stiff, Teddy Trouble, Brute Baynard
Pretty Heel: Dick Rick, Marco Thunder
Technical Heel: Chase Sinn (I agree with this pick but don’t sell yourself or Jonny Firestorm short)
Powerhouse Heel: Brendan Byers (I’d pick Brendan over Guido just based on physical size)
Wildcard Heel: Nick Justice (I totally agree with this pick)
BONUS PICK: Jonny Firestorm (I totally agree with this pick)
Can’t wait to see who ends up on the Jobber fantasy draft list.
