Description
FROM THE VAULT: The FTV series presents some of your favorite W4H wrestlers early in their underground careers, or early matches filmed that formed the foundation of the W4H empire. Donnie Drake has an impressive wrestling career, both in and out of the underground wrestling scene. Here he faces a man who has maybe a hundredth of his wrestling experience, and also gives up quite a lot in height and weight. To say that Tommy Laine would be the underdog in this situation is like saying the sun will rise in the east: it is just a given.
Donnie offers no comfort to the young jobber, he is there for one reason and one reason only - to defeat his opponent. Drake is methodical in how he takes apart the young Laine - he begins with an extended assault on Tommy's back, pummeling him with forearms, shoulders into the midsection and back breakers. On more than one occasion Donnie hoists Tommy into the air above his head and deposits him into the turnbuckles in the corner. All the while, Donnie is thinking about what his next move is, and the move after that, and the move after that.
Donnie appeared in too few W4H matches. It was obvious that he had the "it" factor that, had he been available for more matches, would have enamored him to a huge fanbase. Here we get a fleeting glimpse of what might have been, and the FTV series has been able to save the few matches that he did appear in. Once you see him in this match, you will realize all of the great matches that never got to take place. Thankfully we have this match to help us remember him by, A huge winning entry in the FTV series!
