Life’s all about timing—am I right? Mine couldn’t have been better. I walked in just as one of my idols, Rico Rave, had literally finished getting his ass handed to him. The guy has talent… but man, he has terrible luck.

So I took advantage of the moment.

For roughly 30 minutes, I got to play with Rico—testing out new ways and delivering some old favorites inside the pro wrestling ring. 

I’ll give Rico credit, though, even while he was being stretched, bent and completely controlled, he still fired back at almost all my taunts—sometimes with a verbal comeback, sometimes with a scream. He’s never quiet, and honestly, that makes working him over even more fun.

I focused on his legs, back and neck this time. Leg nelsons, body scissors, figure 4 variations, Boston Crabs, sleeper holds, cobra clutches, Ab stretches, banana splits and moves that I don't even know the names of.  You name it, I probably did it.This was during my prime wrestling years and I had a deep bag full of tricks.

In fact, Rico called me a "Student of the Game" and knew that even though he was a legit World Wrestling Champion, that I was a contender for his throne in the pro world, too! Another fun note, Scott Hall nicknamed me "Von Erich" due to my shaggy hair and often wrestling barefoot during this time.

Anyway, I played with him some more in the ring ropes, pushing him out of the ring and using the cables for leverage. I finally put him out of his misery with a masterful Tongan Death Grip then tied him up with some stray rope I found around the ring. Next opponent, please...
