Injuries, Memories & The Future

RECENT INJURY

A little over a week ago at this point, I was fishing in the local inlet down the road from where I live. I'm not much of an ocean fisherman and much prefer to fish lakes. It was something to do with the sunshine out. The fish weren't plentiful but did pull in a few. Unfortunately, just some dirty bottom feeding catfish. Not even big ones.

I had been stabbed/impaled with the barb of a smaller catfish in the web between my thumb and index finger. That was a tad painful but easily managed. I wasn't ready for the next time a catfish got me with a barb from their fins (or whatever).

It doesn't look as bad as it felt. In that picture, there is about an inch of that barb lodged in my forearm. I have small forearms and it felt like this may have hit the bone.

I ran home to try to pull this out myself but I wasn't tough enough, so it was off to Urgent Care on a Friday night. They numbed me up, cut me open and pulled this little guy out. I woke up the next morning with my hand and forearm ballooned up with swelling, so I went to the ER to see what they thought.

A quick x-ray and brief convo with the Physician on duty then I was off to get more antibiotics. It's finally almost normal again with a slight lingering of puffed up forearm and tiny pain. Hoping the worst is over and I'm back to 100% by the weekend.

COOL FEATURE ON AMAZON PHOTOS

While doing some work for the web site, I was saw these cool memories pop up. I've done a lot of matches over the decades so it was fun to see these matches and images. We've had a lot of fun here at Wrestler4Hire (and the former version known as CameronWrestler). I hope you enjoy a peek at these images.

WRESTLING RING 4 RENT

Over the last month or so, I've been tackling the warehouse I rent for the wrestling ring and superhero sets. I store a ton of gear there (or maybe just a half ton) and some other props. I wanted to clean it up as I get a fair amount of requests to use the ring. I've been hesitant to do so but I've decided I'm open to the idea as long as waivers of liability forms are signed and rules are respected.

I've included some of the recent pics I have taken of the warehouse and I'm working on a few other sets too. I'm thinking I'll rent it out for podcasters, YouTubers and maybe even indie movies.

Currently the rental rate is $250 for 2 hours, $400 for 4 hours and $ 700 for 8 hours. The warehouse is located in Florida near Tampa, St. Petersburg & Clearwater. It has a shower and restroom. If you're SERIOUS about renting the place and have a date(s) in mind, please shoot me an email.

I'll be booking the studio through a website in the near future and have some other sets available to rent besides the wrestling ring (which can also be converted to a boxing ring). I have amateur wrestling mats and gymnastic mats available, too.

LAST CHANCE 4 CUSTOM VIDEOS

I'm closing up shop in Florida for the summer and heading to the Northeast, so I won't be doing any shoots after May 8th. The roster I have available is something like this - Javier The Hunk, Amino, Cash, Golden Terror, Dr. Maniacal and myself.

If these guys fit your custom video fantasy, hit me up and let's work on making it happen. I'm not looking to do a big shoot like I usually do, so probably only have room for 3 more videos.

I could probably make a pitstop in Philadelphia area to film customs with Mark Muscle, Zach Altovito, Ethan Andrews, Zach Reno or some of the local guys. Maybe Chet Chastain is floating around.

SUMMER TRAVELS

I plan to spend a lot of time in Maine this summer, but have some travels planned including a trip to a Chicago for a pro wrestling event May 3rd. I'm in Chicago from May 2nd to May 5th

After that I make the big trek up the East Coast of the USA. I think I'm going to do it fast as I have a wedding in Rhode Island mid-May then another trip shortly after to Watertown, New York to hype my wrestling movie at a comic convention. If you're near that area, hit me up and maybe we can meet up. I'm there June 7th to the 9th.

I'll be working on something for Los Angeles and England soon or at least I think I am. Maybe hold off on Los Angeles until autumn, but I definitely am a fan of England in the summertime. Any areas you'd suggest in England that I haven't been to or may be a secret of the locals? Let me know.

 HAIR LOSS BATTLE

Now I don't mind getting older...at least not terribly much, but good golly - I'm not a fan of this hairline disappearing. I'm lucky to have kept it this long considering my uncles are both bald and were young.

It's gotten to the point where it's very noticeable so I figured I'd throw a line out to see if anyone has any tips for maintaining or regrowing hair. I've tried derma rolling and finasteride, but am not seeing results. I've watched a bunch of YouTube videos and they have some serums but hard telling what is real or not.

So I ask, if you've dealt with this or know somebody who has, what has worked for you or them in getting some or a lot of hair back on top.

I think that's a good little chat for now. Next I wanna discuss why I like being a jobber so much and my plans to start a league of good looking wrestlers that is more "mainstream" and accessible. I know I've talked about it, but I gotta get this (creative) juice out!

Great you are an older pugilist still wrestling, not too many around these days. Youth seems to have taken over the fighting scene. I am 82 and still wrestle 4-5 times a week with young guys and a couple of guys in my age group. Keep on wrestling and do not give up and do not worry about the hair!!!

Always enjoy reading your thoughts. It’s great to get a glimpse behind the scenes. I’d like to see you interview some of your guys and hear from them candidly. Todd has to be interesting or Xavier who seems to have a great background.
I don’t buy from any other company at this point.

Yikes, sorry to read about the injury. Hope you’re back to 100% soon.
So who’s the guy in yellow in the 2022 photo? (And are they holding cans of Twisted Tea?)

Ouch – that looks and sounds super painful. I hope you have a speedy recovery! And PS, I think a receding hairline can be sexy, especially on a handsome guy like yourself.
Cheers
