Aging Rockstar...

I was meant to be traveling town-to-town, sweating and using my body to it's fullest. I went to bed when the sun came up - so imagine what it's like staring at a computer screen answering emails and waking up when the sun comes up. Haha.
I spent from July 2000 until last July (2024) traveling around the North America and parts of Europe wrestling...even during my brief "retirement" from the pro wrestling ring circa 2014-2016 where I still got in the ring sporadically. I recall borrowing boots from a fellow pro wrestling friend while I was in the United Kingdom and got the urge to wrestle. I remember going barefoot at a State Fair in Maine after a fan bought my last pair of wrestling boots. I wrestled in my jeans (and no underwear) at a music festival in Orlando after showing up to hang out with a friend and to see a band I liked.
Even during all that "retirement," I was still going to pro wrestling practices all over the country. I was still wrestling in hotel rooms, on mats and private residences all over. I even went to a couple amateur wrestling practices at my old alma mater.
For the last year, I've been struggling to get into any sort of shape. Every time I start working out or lifting an object slightly heavy...WHAMM-O, BAMM-O, I'm tingling all the way down to my toes. Even doing 50 free weight squats is enough to trigger my injury to act up and impact my day-to-day.
My once powerful Cam-a-condas (legs) have shrunken. My award winning buns starting to droop.
This is life. I used to be very active and when I made the time to sit down to design a website, answer emails, wander around GlobalFight, check all the blogs, set up custom matches, hosting live chats, etc, etc, etc...that was a conscious choice. Now, it's almost all I can do.
I was born to have face-to-face interaction. I was born to showboat and perform...even if the only ones watching was me and my opponent or my training partner. I was born to always come in 2nd in any physical event (wink)...pardon my terrible humor.
Not sure what this means, I just wanted to get out these thoughts so I'd have some notes for a future blog...and now 10 minutes later, I've got a full fledged 2 page school project. I'm going to save this and we shall see if I come back to this to add more.
I think I'm just missing being sweaty, challenged & exhausted (not in the "tired all the time" old man way) at the end of the day.

We all age Cameron. When was your last thorough physical? Tingling is a sign something is wrong. Take care of yourself.
I’ve admired your mat work ever since you were a fresh-faced rookie at BG. No doubt the rigors of pro wrestling have taken their toll and you deserve some time off. But I think you have a lot left in the tank. Hands down, you’re still the hottest of the lot.
I bet you still rock! Be hot to roll with you
I want very much to meet you for bare chest wrestling for good time. Do you prefer shorts on for wrestling? I live in Chicago, Illinois. I want to acknowledge you that I am profoundly deaf and we can communicate in different ways.
You will always be ageless to me. You look better than most when they are at their peak. Understand the changes, been there done that, but you will always be part of the best of wrestling.
